1. LB Jarrad Davis vs RB Frank Gore
Gore led the Dolphins with 101 rushing yards last week against the Bears. This week, Davis will try to stop Gore from continuing to prove that he is the better back over his teammate, RB Kenyon Drake.
Davis has been looking better week-to-week as he gets more comfortable in coach Patricia’s new defense. With a week off, Davis should be able to benefit from the rest and the extra time he’s had to prepare for this game.
2. RG TJ Lang vs Dolphins D-Line
Lang has been out for a good portion of the last two games. With the bye week coming at a fortuitous time, he appears ready to take the field again. Although the offensive line has preformed well in his absence, Lang is still the Lions best offensive lineman when healthy.
3. CB Teez Tabor vs WR Albert Wilson
Tabor should see a decent amount of playing time due to the injury of Jamal Agnew. So far this season, Tabor has not looked impressive and he will be tested early and often by QB Brock Osweiler and the dolphin offense.
Wilson has made a name for himself after a solid performance last week and then giving himself the name of “YAC king.” That’s a title that many associate with Lions WR Golden Tate — the YAC leader in the NFL since 2013.
4. QB Matthew Stafford vs Miami defensive backs
Stafford has the best group of receivers that he’s ever had in his NFL career. With the addition of TJ Lang back on the O-Line, as well as the Dolphins defense ranking 24th in the NFL against the pass, look for Stafford to have a big game.
5. LT Taylor Decker vs DE Robert Quinn
Decker has been better of late and he will need to continue to be if he plans on keeping Quinn away from Stafford. Quinn only has one sack this year but he is more than capable getting to the QB multiple times a game. Between Quinn on one side and RT Rick Wagner having a solid year on the right, I’d be willing to bet the Lions aim to run away from Quinn’s side of the defense.Follow here:
