Week 4: Lion Lowdown’s NFL Picks

James Phillips: ((Last Week 3-2) Season 6-2)

Lions at Vikings
Pick: Lions 24-14
Reason: Case Keenum may have looked like Joe Montana last week; however, I view that more as an aberration opposed to a late career surge. The Lions defensive unit has been great at creating turnovers so far this season, and I believe that will continue and Matthew Stafford will be able to get enough done against this defense to scratch out a victory.

Rams at Cowboys:
Pick: Cowboys 31-27
Reason: Jared Goff and the Rams offense has looked top tier, but the defense has been far from that special unit under Wade Phillips most people were expecting. Between the Cowboys ball control offense and Demarcus Lawrence emerging on defense Dallas should be able to take care of business.

Steelers at Ravens:
Pick: Ravens 16-13
Although Pittsburgh has all the pieces of an explosive offense Big Ben and crew haven’t been able to put it together yet. This rivalry is always played close and usually low-scoring and I believe the Ravens respond after getting embarrassed in London.

Giants at Buccaneers:
Pick: Giants 21-14
Reason: Eli Manning has been very bad this year, but Odell Beckham is very good and I think he explodes in this one to create enough offense for the G-men to claim victory. Also I think Winston makes one too many mistakes for the Bucs to recover from and it costs them.

Bengals at Browns:
Pick: Browns 23-20
Reason: The Browns have been far from a perfect unit this year and history says this is a get right game for the Bengals but let’s just say I have a gut feeling here. I think this is where the AJ McCarron era starts in Cincinnati after falling to 0-4.

James Gullett: ((Last Week 3-2) Season 6-2)

Lions at Vikings
Pick: Lions 24-10
Reason: The Lions have played like an elite team so far in 2017. Only losing to the defending NFC champion Atlanta Falcons , by a technicality. Stafford and crew will come out hungry for this one, the defense will have a challenge keeping Cook, Diggs, Thielen, and Rudolph in check.

Rams at Cowboys:
Pick: Rams 24-20
Reason: Rams have been a sneaky team this year, as well as the Cowboys a team that can disappear from tim to time. Geoff has looked really good so far this year and so has Todd Gurley. I believe the Rams have the better QB and the better RB now that they are in a system that compliments their skill set.

Steelers at Ravens:
Pick: Steelers 21-13
Reason: The Ravens got destroyed last week against the Jaguars. After seeing that, I have no faith in this team at all. Pittsburgh let me down last week picking them vs the Bears, lets hope they don’t come out flat again this week. Only so many times you can shut down Brown and Bell.

Giants at Buccaneers:
Pick: Buccaneers 20-10
Reason: The Giants are a team in total dysfunction. The head coach calls out his QB, their star WR has not nearly played to his potential. Winston has had some questionable calls, but I believe he will make more good plays than bad while the G men just wont be able to get out of their own way.

Bengals at Browns:
Pick: Browns 17-7
Reason: I have the Browns winning this low scoring contest. The Browns are not a complete team, however they do have more playmakers. The Bengals have had a  dreadful season so far and I for see it getting worse. They lead by 14 in Green Bay at one point only to watch it slip away.

Jace Osborn-Sweet: ((Last Week 2-3) Season 4-4)

Lions at Vikings:
Pick: Lions 24-20
Reason: Originally, I had the lions losing this one in my preseason predictions, but with Case Keenum as their QB and this defense playing how it is, I see lions taking this one in a low scoring affair.

Rams at Cowboys:
Pick: Rams 35-24
Reason: With this Rams offense finally getting a spark and the defense playing as usual, they are formidable this year. The Cowboys have gotten worse. Expect an upset here and Jared Goff to light up this secondary.

Steelers at Ravens:
PickRavens 17-14
Reason: After the dismantling that was the Jaguars vs Ravens last week, I expect Baltimore to come out with a fire, especially in this rivalry. It’s always low scoring and very close, but due to their defense I give the Ravens the edge.

Giants at Buccaneers:
Pick: Buccaneers 27-17.
Reason: This could be the game the Giants need to get that offense going, but I expect more of the same Giants we’ve seen this season. It will be close but I see Bucs pulling it out.

Bengals at Browns:
Browns 24-13
Reason: The Bengals played well for 2 quarters last week and finally got a spark into this offense, but this browns team is sneaky good.
