Week 14: 5 Players Who Impressed and 5 Who Did Not

5 Players Who Impressed

1. QB Matthew Stafford

Stafford was 36/44, 381 yards with 1 TD/2 INT.

Even with his two interceptions, Stafford had an amazing game with over 80% completions. Stafford has had over 80% completions four times in his career, two of those were the last two weeks.

Stafford took chances deep and agressive throws wich lead to his interceptions, but also lead to some big plays.

2. CB/S Quandre Diggs

Diggs is one of many players in this game as he forced a fumble and snatched an interception. Diggs is clearly the Lions biggest hitter and is fun to watch on defense.

3. CB Darius Slay

Slay once again was a lock down corner. He had a fumble recovery and an interception. Slay was also steller in coverage and it showed as he was one of PFF’s best CBs this week.

4. FS Glover Quin

Quin had a solid game and forced a fumble that the Lions recovered. He also lead the Lions with nine tackles. Quin has continued to be a leader on this defense and the Lions are very pleased to have extended him for the future.

5. TE Eric Ebron

Ebron had a caeer game as he racked up 10 catches for 94 yards– both career highs and both lead the team in this game. So far this season, Ebron has lead the Lions in receiving in three separate games.

5 Who Did Not

1.  WR TJ Jones

Jones had a dreadful game as a return man. He cost the team nine yards by not taking a knee and tackled himself by running into his blocker in the open field. Jones also muffed a punt and ran backwards on an another while trying to make a man miss. The result was being tackled for minus five yards.

2. OT Taylor Decker

Decker had a holding call and could have also been called for a false start. Lucky for the Lions, the refs missed it. Over the last three games, Decker has jumped the start five times.

3. RG TJ Lang

Lang was another Lion who simply had too many penalties this game. Lang had a holding call that essentially killed the drive. Later, Lang had a false start that pushed the Lions out of field goal range with under one-minute to go in the game.

4. OG/C Graham Glasgow

Glasgow has had a strong season to this point. He even did not give up a sack but just had a few penalties– like a holding call that took away a 26-yard gain and replaced it with a 10-yard loss. In terms of net yards, he cost us a total of 36-yards.

5. DC  Teryl Austin

Goal line play action pass to a TE for a TD. The 6th time over last nine games this has happend. Maybe he will learn one day. At least there were 11 on the field this game.
