Week 14: 5 Lions to watch against the Vikings

1. QB David Blough

Blough played lights out for most of his first career start. He will get another chance to show us what he can do while facing yet another division rival and solid defense. The underrated rookie free agent will be playing in very special cleats on Sunday as well — honoring Tyler Trent.

2. LB Jarrad Davis

Davis has actually been a solid player in three of the last four weeks. Today, he will be tested in the run and pass game covering and keeping track of Dalvin Cook. If Davis continues his upgraded play, he may have saved his roster spot in the offseason because before this string of games, I personally believe that was in jeopardy.

3. LB Jahlani Tavai

Tavai is another linebacker that is going to be tested today. I would like to see what he has learned since the Lions have already played the Vikings this year. See where he improved while facing a familiar opponent. He has had a solid overall season, however, the last couple of games have not been his best. Maybe he hit the rookie wall?

4. DE Trey Flowers

Contrary to popular belief, Flowers is back up to speed and has been worth every penny of his big contract. It takes more than one man to make a defense. Flower had yet another sack last week and an additional five quarterback pressures. He may not have to even face Vikings starting left tackle and former Lion Riley Reiff this week. Reiff is seen as a game-time decision.

5. RB Bo Scarbrough

Bo has been the best running back the Lions have had this season. Yes, I said that. Kerryon Johnson will be the starter once healthy due to his speed and ability to catch out of the backfield. However, in terms of running the ball, Scarbrough has been better. Scarbrough has almost hit the 100-yard mark in two of three games as the bell cow running back. Penalties have negated his first career 100-yard performance.
