1. QB Jeff Driskel
Driskel didn’t even know he was going to start last week until Sunday morning. It also happened to be against a division rival who has a top-10 defense as well. Now, he has had a full week of first-team reps in practice and will go up against a little easier defense than a week ago. Look for Driskel to use his legs more after leading the team in rushing last week.
2. LT Taylor Decker
After making my “5 Lions who did not impress” list in back to back weeks, Decker also made PFF’s “Team of the Week” in back to back weeks. Although I thought his bad performances were due to penalties and not as much bad play, Decker has made a ton of mental mistakes this year and needs to clean them up. He didn’t allow a sack against LB Khalil Mack last week and he’ll match up against another good one in Demarcus Lawrence today.
3. LB Jahlani Tavai
Tavai has been improving as the year has gone on and he will see more time this week as he takes snaps away from LB Jarrad Davis in the middle. With Tavai’s versatility and improvement over the alternative, it will be increasingly difficult to keep him off the field.
4. CB Darius Slay
Slay has had another solid year and in this one, he will be asked to continue his reign as one of the league’s top corners. He will most likely follow WR Amari Cooper of the Cowboys and this will be no easy task, as Cooper has rejuvenated his career in Dallas.
5. WR Danny Amendola
Amendola has already surpassed my expectations for him this year. Amendola has been a very welcomed addition to the offense and gets open enough to take targets away from Golladay and Jones. Come Sunday, I don’t believe the Cowboys have a cover-man who can handle the shifty veteran.Follow here:
