Detroit Lions DT Damon “Snacks” Harrison will not continue his holdout into training camp per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Just said on @nflnetwork: #Lions star DT Damon “Snacks” Harrison tells me “I’ll be there!” when veterans report to camp Wednesday. He and CB Darius Slay sat out minicamp for contract reasons. Doesn’t sound like any new deal yet, but Snacks – a bigtime team leader – plans to show.

Harrison is a key cog in the Lions defense and did not attend the team’s mini-camp or offseason workouts.
After the 353-pound monster was traded to Detroit prior to week 8 last season, the Lions rush defense almost transformed overnight. Maybe players were also becoming more comfortable in HC Matt Patricia‘s defense, but it’s probably no coincidence that their turnaround simultaneously happened with the arrival of Snacks.

Harrison, 30, led all NFL defensive tackles with 81 total tackles in 2018. Since 2012, he has 436 combined tackles — also most in the NFL by a defensive tackle in that span.
Even with two years left on his current deal, GM Bob Quinn could still negotiate and find a middle ground to make Harrison more content.
