There was some speculation floating around out there that the Detroit Lions might try to trade a current player for another draft pick. Most notably, RB Ameer Abdullah, after the Lions added Kerryon Johnson in the second round.
According to GM Bob Quinn, there was no interest from other NFL organizations in terms of player trades.
When asked if there was any interest from other teams regarding current players on the roster, Quinn concisely replied, “There was not.”
That doesn’t necessarily mean he didn’t try to make a couple swaps, but the demand just wasn’t aplenty.
Many fans were hoping the Lions could possibly squeeze a mid to late round pick out of somebody for Abdullah as he is now buried on the depth chart. In a deep running back class, that was going to be difficult.
