Long list of Lions set to miss the start training camp

Football is almost here! With football comes injuries and the Detroit Lions are already behind the eight ball.

After losing starting left tackle Taylor Decker for a chunk of the season, there are other players who are currently battling their own ailments.

Most notably, P Sam Martin

Rather unexpected and previously unreported, it’s unlikely to be anything major. You can assume P Kasey Redfern will take over the punting duties for the time being.

Two other notable names also were placed on the active/non-football injury list.

Below are a few more players who will start training camp on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list:

The biggest two names absent from these reports are newly acquired guard TJ Lang and RB Theo Riddick. Both had offseason surgeries but appear to be ready to go in at least a limited capacity.

Outside of Decker, all the injured players are expected to be able to return at some point in the preseason.
