Lions waive-injured OT Greg Robinson

Well, the Greg Robinson experiment has come to an end in Detroit.

The former No. 2 overall pick was acquired through trade in the off-season to help fill the void from Taylor Decker‘s shoulder injury.

Robinson has been shelved the last couple weeks with an injury of his own. His release could be a good indicator of the status of Decker’s return.

No matter the case of Decker, LT Brian Mihalik has been the better interim replacement on Matthew Stafford‘s blindside.

We will know if Decker is ready to play this week by tomorrow with week 10’s final injury designation. Last year’s first-round tackle will have to be officially activated from the PUP to the 53-man roster. There is now an empty spot for Decker to fill.

Another possibility is also the return of OT Corey Robinson. He was placed on the IR before the season started and is also eligible to return. He’s been practicing for a couple weeks as well.
