Lions waive QB Connor Cook and sign QB David Fales

The Detroit Lions have waived QB Connor Cook and signed QB David Fales.

They also signed free agent OL Luke Bowanko and waived S David Jones in a corresponding move.

Cook was a former Michigan State signal caller and was slated behind QB Tom Savage. Fales will now likely assume the role of QB3.

Fales, 28, was originally a sixth round pick of the Chicago Bears in 2014 out of San Jose State. The 6-foot-1 quarterback has bounced around since joining the league:

• Chicago Bears (2014–2015)

• Baltimore Ravens (2016)*

• Chicago Bears (2016)

• Miami Dolphins (2017–2018)

In his career, he only has 31 completions, a 64.6% completions percentage, 287 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
