Maybe not the exchange most fans were hoping for before the trade deadline, but the Detroit Lions have traded away one of their defensive leaders, Quandre Diggs. The Seattle Seahawks parted with a 2020 fifth-round pick in order to receive Diggs and also a 2021 seventh-rounder from the Lions.
After signing a three-year extension just last offseason, GM Bob Quinn must have had his reasons for the move. Diggs was a captain and the enforcer in the Lions secondary. At first glance, it would appear that the Seahawks came away the winners of the deal. Maybe Quinn has something else up his sleeve moving forward.
For the time being, the Lions will now look for their young duo, Tracy Walker and Will Harris, to be the future at the position.
