The Lions get an undisclosed 2019 draft pick from the Dolohins in return. The sixth-year year veteran only lasted one year in Detroit after signing a three year deal a season ago.
Source: the Dolphins sent a conditional 2019 7th round pick to the Lions in the Akeem Spence trade. It’s a pick Miami acquired in the Jarvis Landry deal.

The 6-foot-1, 307-pound tackle had 39 tackles and three sacks with a forced fumble in 2017. He played in all 16 games and had 11 starts.
Miami parted ways with former Lion DT Ndamukong Suh this offseason and needed depth at the position. With last year’s defensive line coach, Kris Kocurek, now on the Dolohins staff, Spence will be reunited.
Spence’s fit for Detroit came into question with the new scheme of HC Matt Patricia. More of a gap-shooting 3-tech, Patricia values D-lineman who can do a little more in terms of controlling the line.
This move could indicate the perceived value of rookie fourth round pick, De’Shawn Hand.
