Lions sign TE Wes Saxton

The Detroit Lions have signed free agent TE Wes Saxton.

Contract terms were not disclosed and no corresponding move was announced.

Saxton was an undrafted rookie free agent out of South Alabama in 2015. He bounced around the NFL in 2016 on the Washington Redskins and New York Jets practice squads and also spent part of 2017 season with the Buffalo Bills.

The 6-foot-4, 235-pound tight end has only seen one regular season game his rookie year. He didn’t log any stats after playing sparingly.

He does have great athleticism for the position, but is likely just camp fodder.
