With their second sixth round pick (186th overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions selected Ty Johnson out of Maryland.
The 5-foot-10, 208-pound running back averaged 7.6 yards per carry in his career with 17 touchdowns. He never was a full time back, but he was highly productive when he got a chance. As a pass catcher, he had 29 receptions and 318 yards with two touchdowns.

He ran a sub 4.40 40 yard dash at his pro day and has kick return ability. Johnson averaged 25.3-yards per return while at Maryland.
