Lions select OC Frank Ragnow at 20th overall

With the 20th selection in the 2018 draft, the Detroit Lions select Arkansas OC Frank Ragnow.

I really liked Ragnow as a prospect, but over DE Harold Landry seems like a bit of a reach.

EDIT: Considering no NFL team felt that Landry was a first-round selection, maybe his injury history played a bigger factor than expected.

The 6-foot-5, 312-pound interior lineman was PFF’s top-rated center last season and has two of the three highest graded years ever in PFF history. GM Bob Quinn must have felt the same way. There should be no reason for offensive line woes this upcoming season. As seen in the video below, Ragnow had no problem handling Alabama first-round defensive tackle, Da’Ron Payne.

The 21-year old rookie has soared up draft boards recently. Many national media “experts” were penciling Ragnow to the Cincinnati Bengals one pick after Detroit. The pick definitely fills the Lions biggest need at guard or center, depending on where Graham Glasgow ends up.
