The Detroit Lions have released two fairly new additions after bringing in two others. DT Datone Jones and DE George Johnson were both released.
In corresponding moves, they acquired QB Brad Kaaya through waivers and also signed former Buccaneers defensive end, Jacquies Smith.

Jones was inactive in his one week in Detroit while fellow free agent pickup DT Caraun Reid played a handful of snaps.
(Edit: Reid was also waived to make room for OT Bryce Harris)
Johnson was not bringing much to the table with his limited playing time and was essentially replaced by his former teammate in Tampa, Jacquies Smith.
Don’t expect the Lions to to stop making moves anytime soon. With the subtraction of these three D-lineman, they are left with only three defensive tackles. They usually at least dress four on gamedays.
