The Detroit Lions announced today that they have released DE Armonty Bryant.
#Lions have released DE Armonty Bryant.
Thought he would be able to contribute but w/ his off-field issues & injuries, must be too risky.

After being suspended for the third time in a year, he was lost for the first four games of this season.
He was eligible to play against the Carolina Panthers yesterday but was inactive. The decision had to be made today to either release him or find room on the 53-man roster. GM Bob Quinn and crew chose the latter.
Bryant was a mid-season free agent pickup last year and had three sacks in four games before falling to injury. He was a versatile player who could line up both inside and out on passing downs.
With his injury history and being an off-field risk, the Lions decided it was best to part ways.
