The Detroit Lions have promoted WR Marvin Hall to the active roster from the practice squad. In a corresponding move, they released WR Chris Lacy and re-signed DE Jonathan Wynn to the practice squad.
Hall has 12 receptions for 209 yards with two touchdowns in his NFL career after going undrafted in 2016 out of Washington. He had spent the last couple years with the Atlanta Falcons before signing with the Chicago Bears this past offseason. The Bears released him during final cuts and he signed on to Detroit’s practice squad.
Maybe more interesting, Hall has return abilities that could be used after Jamal Agnew‘s struggles in that department. Other returnman option, RB Ty Johnson, should have an expanded role on offense after the release of C.J. Anderson.
Lacy joined the Lions in 2018 after being waived by the New England Patriots as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Oklahoma State. He has appeared in a total of three games for the Lions and has been a special teams contributor this season. It would not be surprising to see him return to the Lions practice squad if he clears waivers.
