Lions place RG T.J. Lang on Reserve-Injured

The Detroit Lions announced today that they have placed G T.J. Lang on Reserve-Injured due to a neck injury.

In a corresponding move, they also promoted CB Mike Ford to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. S David Jones will replace Ford on the practice squad.

With Lang’s injuries and heavy cap hit next year, it’s fair to wonder if his time is over as a Lion. Lang carries a $11.66-million cap hit next year and would save $9-million in space if they released him. You also can’t rule out the possiblity of retirement with injuries starting to take their toll.

Lang has only played in 282 of 607 offensive snaps this year.

Kenny Wiggins is first in line to replace Lang for the remainder of the season.
