REPORT: Lions have visited with DT Sylvester Williams

According to Cameron Wolfe, Former Tennessee Titans defensive tackle, Sylvester Williams visited the Detroit Lions yesterday and Washington Redskins today.

A decision could be made as soon as today.

Williams is a former 2013 first-round pick of the Denver Broncos. Coming out of North Carolina, the talent was there but maybe hasn’t quite lived up to the hype yet. The 6-foot-3, 313-pounder signed a semi-lucrative three-year contract with the Titans last off-season. He was recently released due to mediocre play.

PFF ranked him 67th of 122 graded interior defenders last year.

At 29-years old, he has ammased 114-tackles, six sacks and one fumble recovery in his career.

He is best suited to play the nose tackle position– which just so happens to be a need for the Lions.
