Lions Day 2 NFL Draft 2020 Grades

In day 2 of the 2020 NFL draft, the Detroit Lions filled three holes with three impact players who should start immediately giving the Lions a much-needed boost at multiple positions.

D’andre Swift: The Lions take the Bulldog running back with the 35th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Swift is a shifty back that is also not afraid to put his shoulder down if need be. He does lack some top-end speed, but has plenty of moves in the open field and pass-catching abilities. Swift is considered the best running back in the draft by many.

Final Grade B+

Julian Okwara: The Lions take the Fighting Irishman with the 67th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Okwara will join his brother in Detroit but will make his own name for himself there. He is a rush linebacker, yet also can put his hand in the dirt. Speed is the biggest weapon. He still could fill out his lighter frame a little bit as well.

Final Grade: B+

Jonah Jackson: The Lions dip back into the Ohio State Buckeyes talent at pick 75 — taking one of the best guards in the draft in Jackson. Jackson is an elite pass blocker only surrendering one sack in more than 1,000 passing snaps played. He is no slouch run blocking either, as he should be a day one starter for the Lions. I’m not upset at all about the trade up to grab him. I love Lions GM Bob Quinn being aggressive to get the player he wants.

Final Grade: A

The day as a whole was nothing short of phenomenal in my opinion. On day two, the Lions added three players who will all start, or at least play a major role this year for the Lions.

The grade for the day: A
