The Detroit Lions have re-signed TE Tim Wright.
Fellow tight end UDFA Brandon Barnes was waived in a corresponding move.

Wright originally joined the Lions through a 2015 trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 2015, he had only nine catches for 77 yards and two touchdowns in limited action.
Last offseseason, he suffered an ACL tear and subsequently missed the entire 2016 season.
Both Barnes and Wright are great athletes for the position but are lacking in the blocking department. With Eric Ebron battling a hamstring injury, it appears GM Bob Quinn is looking for a capable “move” tight end.
